Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter and youngest child of Richard McCormick. She was born August 5, 1956, on the outskirts of Woodland Hills California. Her father taught at school, as did her mother, who was a domestic worker. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick started singing and performing in the early years of her life. McCormick won her first contest, the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest when she was just 6 years old and was contacted through Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He was interested in her desire to work in the business of show production. McCormick was commissioned to perform in her first major part in 1964, in a tv commercial for Mattels latest doll Baby Pattaburp. Later that year she did another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was later cast in the show Wind It up and It Breaks in the La Jolla Playhouse.
